Data modeling and analytics since 2016
I build and modernize BW landscapes from the backend to the frontend: ETL and data models on BW/4HANA, reporting with Analysis for Office, and planning solutions with BW-IP.
New builds, migration and further development of data models across all generations. I move legacy BW systems onto current objects rather than dragging old baggage along.
Data flows, aDSOs and CompositeProviders following the LSA++ approach. Reworking existing models during live operation is part of it too.
Generic and Business Content DataSources, 2LIS extractors with delta handling, and connecting SAP and non-SAP source systems via file and Smart Data Access.
Transformation logic in ABAP routines (start, end and field routines), DTPs and the further development of existing load logic.
Building and monitoring process chains to control the loads, including analysis of process chain failures during live operation.
Creating and optimizing HANA Calculation Views to move processing close to the database and enable real-time analysis.
Native development with HANA SQL and AMDP where classic ABAP routines reach their limits.
Queries with the BEx Query Designer including customer exit variables for dynamic authorizations and calculations.
Reports, KPI dashboards and AfO workbooks with VBA logic. Frontend adjustments aligned with the department's actual reporting requirements.
Design and implementation of planning solutions with BW-IP and BPC: planning functions and sequences with FOX, input-ready queries and planning layouts in Analysis for Office.
Sales and revenue planning, production and sales planning, and integrated balance sheet planning, each aligned with the department and combined with actual data.

Software development with passion and expertise
In my role as a BW developer, I am fascinated not only by technological complexity, but also by the opportunity to create real added value for companies through data analysis and modelling.
In addition to the classic loading and transformation of data, the focus is also on the native development of models on the HANA database in order to increase the efficiency of data processing and enable real-time analyses.
Since 2016, I have worked passionately to develop tailor-made solutions that enable companies to optimize their business processes and make well-founded decisions.
At the same time, I support the development of planning solutions with BW-IP to enable precise planning processes and combine planning data with real data.

Building and developing the data models for a financial data warehouse on BW/4HANA. Connecting several external systems via file and Smart Data Access, transformations in ABAP and HANA Calculation Views, plus process chains to control the loads.
Home appliance industry: BW/4HANA migration & sales planning
Migrating existing developments to BW/4HANA objects and building sales and revenue planning in SAP BW-IP. With planning functions and sequences, input-ready queries and planning layouts in Analysis for Office.
Automotive: KPI reporting in PLM
Further development of KPI dashboards in the PLM area with BEx, Analysis for Office and Design Studio. Adjusting and extending the queries, plus error analysis and ticket handling during live operation.
Mechanical engineering: Integrated balance sheet planning
Design and implementation of integrated balance sheet planning with BW-IP and BPC. Planning sequences and functions with FOX, data provisioning via extractors and HANA Calculation Views, input-ready queries as the planning frontend, and AfO workbooks with VBA.
Construction industry: Replacing a legacy BW system
Analyzing and rebuilding heavily grown extraction logic, moving it to new mechanisms and redeveloping existing reports. With reconciliation between the old and new solution so the figures still add up after the switch.
